St Myllin’s Church

St. Myllin’s Church in Llanfyllin, believed to have been founded in the seventh century by the Irish monk St. Moling, has a rich history. The current structure, Constructed from locally made ‘Llanfyllin’ red brick with freestone dressings was built between 1706 and 1710, resembles a Wren-style church hall.

Significant alterations were made in 1863 by architect Walter Scott, who added Romanesque window surrounds, colored stained glass, and ornate interior decorations. In 1959, the church was restored to a simpler style, incorporating oak paneling.

St. Myllin’s Church remains a central part of the Llanfyllin community, serving as a place of worship and a hub for local events.
